Bharatanatyam

This dance style originates from Southern India and has roots in temple dancing. Bharatanatyam has two different elements which are Abhunaya, the dramatic side of the style used to tell stories, and Nritta which consists of pure dance movements. The dance style uses hand gestures known as Mudras as well as strong footwork and is performed primarily in a deep pliƩ position.
